Students had their first official Mentor Day on Thursday. Part of the Gateway CEO journey is to be matched with a community leader or business owner as they develop their own personal business during second semester. Incorporating curriculum from Doug Villhard, they worked on sharing how their business idea lines up against the Side Hustle Litmus test, whether or not they have a 'lovable' solution for the problem they are solving, who is their competition, and how will they differentiate themselves. Most students have an idea of what business plan they will move forward with, but they are also highly encouraged to share their idea with friends and families over the holiday. Customer feedback is a critical component to every step of this process. Before splitting into groups, the students also celebrated their success while sharing their contributions to the Mistletoe Madness event. The cool thing is it also incorporated another public speaking opportunity for these students. So much business going on in this room. Special thank you to all 17 mentors who are committing their time to students this year!
