With students working through their individual business plans, Stephanie introduced the students to some Media Do's and Don'ts for Entrepreneurs. Here are some highlights:
- Know your target audience. Determine which section of the paper is best for business type.
- Build a strong relationship with editors and advertising depts at all local media outlets.
- Know what your ask is. Are your promoting a new product, new location or specials?
- Determine how long you want to run your ad and what is the best timing to place the ad.
- When doing an interview or podcast, be sure to confirm if they will be sharing on their platforms and if you can share on yours.
