The Marine Coin Company sits on North Duncan in Marine and was a great site visit on Thursday. Bill Weder has an incredible story of many experiences to share with our Gateway CEO students. From growing up on a farm and learning all about small engine repair, to owning a laundry mat and multiple investment properties, to installing and maintaining billboards, to being a pilot with many certifications for flying, to helping to plan large churches, and finally to owning a successful coin company, there is so much life experience to share. Here's a few takeaways -
- Bill introduced students to a different type of investment opportunity with gold and silver. Sharing the history and value of different types of coins was very interesting.
- More than the corner store that sits in an old bank, students were inspired to never stop pursuing the things of interest in life!
- Always ask questions when you meet new people. The world of flying opened Bill up to meeting many successful individuals that are connected very well. Every time you meet someone new, it can be a stepping stone to something different in life.
- Be selective in who you partner with! Sometimes it will turn out well and sometimes it will not. You have to know when to cut ties and keep going.
- Don't be afraid to build a team of individuals that have more knowledge and specialty expertise. This can allow you to grow a business and leverage the knowledge from others.
This was a great morning. Thank you for sharing so much with our Gateway CEO students.
