In 30 days since returning from Christmas break, Gateway CEO students have had several site visits and guest speakers, hosted a Junior Day, met with Mentors and taken their business idea from answering some questions on a Business Model Canvas to figuring out size of market and now officially completing their first draft of their 30 second pitch - as a video! Students were so brave on Friday as they shared their first take at pitching their business idea within 30 seconds. Basic format for the video --
- 30 seconds continuous with no editing
- What is the problem their product/solution is solving?
- What is their solution for this problem?
- What is their secret sauce that separates their business idea from others in their market?
- Where will we find more details about contacting this business?
This exercise of completing their pitch helped them really pull structure in building for their 3 minute pitch over the next few weeks and also helped demonstrate the time it takes to pull an idea together and successfully record the pitch. Even though it is a simple process, it still takes time to do it well. As I said to the students on Friday, you all are bold and brave for doing this. Way to go.
