Mike Yates and Trevor Yates hosted students for a different type of visit on Wednesday. Gateway CEO is fortunate to have Truck Centers Training Center as their home base each year, but students don't always know what actually happens at Truck Centers in Troy and across their multiple locations. Students visited with Mike and Trevor to hear about early beginnings. Mike will soon celebrate 50 years of legacy as part of Truck Centers, beginning in Highland. The Hopkins and Yates families specialize in the med/heavy duty trucks from sales, to servicing, to collision repair. From 17 employees to over 750 employees, this local employer believes in supporting their people, the daily drivers that deliver to our local communities and keep the United States running. A few highlights from the visit:
- While Truck Centers has acquired many awards, their customers and culture are at the core of what make them successful.
- Fix it right the first time - is a goal every time a truck pulls onto their lot for help.
- The company believes in empowering their employees to make decisions that are best for the company -- and will deal with any aftermath later!
- Revenue doesn't pay bills, gross profit does! Maintaining excellence in Parts and Service matters to everyone!
- Supporting Gateway CEO helps students realize there is so much opportunity in their own backyard. Come back home and be part of the vital economy in the Metro East!
Thank you Mike and Trevor for sharing our morning with Gateway CEO!
