As students returned from the Christmas Break they took next steps in their business plan and working through a Business Model Canvas Plan. The specific one we used is an iteration to the original model and called a Raw Canvas. Mentors joined our students last week to help the students talk through their Business Model Canvas. They outlined the following for their Businesses:
Problem - What problem in the market have they discovered that needs a solution?
Solution - What is the solution? Is it better than alternatives? What are the benefits?
Customers - What market is being targeted? Who are your early adopters? Are your customers business to business or business to consumer?
Channels - How do you find your customer? Social media? Word of Mouth? Local famers markets? Print/Digital Media?
Secret Sauce - What is their secret sauce that makes their product or service different?
Costs - What is it going to cost to build this product? What resources are needed?
Revenue - How is this business going to make money? What will they charge?

The conversations soared after a round of Thankful Thursday. The partnership with local business owner and leaders is such an integral piece to the success of this program!
